Carl F. Andreone  (deceased) served in World War II in the US Navy stationed in the Philippines. He continued his education and graduated from Villanova University in 1950 with a Bachelor in Science in Engineering (Chemical), but was led to working in the field of Mechanical Engineering eventually specializing in closed feedwater heaters and power plant auxiliary heat exchangers.. He traveled the world with assignments in Saudi Arabia and Massachusetts where he was a registered Professional Engineer.

Mr. Andreone served on the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code’s Special Working Group on Heat Transfer Equipment, now the Subgroup on Heat Transfer Equipment of Subcommittee VIII. He was instrumental in preparing  PTC12,1, the performance test code for closed feedwater heaters. With Stanley Yokell, he presented the courses, Closed Feedwater Heaters –Mechanical Aspects, and Tubular Inspection, Maintenance & Repair on behalf of The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), in-plant at utilities and in Europe and the United States for commercial instruction firms. Mr. Andreone was elected a Fellow of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in 1992. In 1997, McGraw-Hill published the textbook titled Tubular Heat Exchanger Inspection Maintenance and Repair, written with his partner Stanley Yokellt is still used in university classrooms today.

Stanley Yokell. served in World War II in the US Navy as Engineering and Executive Officer of Landing Ship Tank (LST) 722 stationed in Subic Bay, the Philippines. He continued his education and graduated from New York University College of Engineering in 1947 with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, but became interested in Mechanical Engineer as a result of assignments to design process equipment, tubular heat exchangers, and feedwater heaters. He held Professional Engineer Registrations in New Jersey, Colorado, Illinois and Iowa but has retired all but his Colorado registration. He serves as a corresponding member of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code's Subgroup on Heat Transfer Equipment of Subcommittee VIII. He was a founder, vice president and president of Process Engineering and Machine Company (PEMCO) that became a subsidiary of Ecolaire Inc., now a part of SPX Heat Transfer Corporation.

He then engaged in a second career as a consultant to the process industries and utilities, retiring in 2014. Mr. Yokell was elected a Fellow of the ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) in 1990. He has presented his copyrighted course. Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers-Mechanical Aspects in Canada, Denmark, Holland, the United States and Venezueala on behalf of various sponsorship organizations.  With Carl F. Andreone, he presented the courses, Closed Feedwater Heaters –Mechanical Aspects, and Tubular Inspection, Maintenance & Repair on behalf of EPRI, in-plant at utilities and in Europe and the United States for commercial instruction firms.  In 1990 McGraw-Hill published his book, A Working Guide to Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers, now out of print but available used from various booksellers. In 1997, McGraw-Hill published the textbook titled Tubular Heat Exchanger Inspection Maintenance and Repair, written with his partner Carl F. Andreone. It is still used in university classrooms today.

In 2014 McGraw-Hill Education published Closed Feedwater Heaters for Power Generation: A Working Guide, that he wrote with his colleagues Michael C. Catapano and Eric Svensson.

Michael C. Catapano has had over 40 years experience in the operation, design, procurement, and maintenance of feedwater heaters, condensers, and other shell-and-tube heat exchangers, including seven years with PSE&G, and 33 years as president of Powerfect, Inc. His current work at Powerfect is primarily devoted to consulting, troubleshooting problems, and assisting utilities with feedwater heater replacement, and operating and maintenance problems.

Mr. Catapano has supported ASME and EPRI in numerous feedwater heater projects, seminars, and publications. In addition, he heolds three patents pertaining to feedwater heater testing and repair. He was on of twelve inventors recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy in their energy savings product commerialization program.

Mr. Catapano is a past chairman of the ASME Power Division heat Exchanger Committee, and he served for many years as their Technical Program Coordinator. He also served as past chairman for the division's Awards and Honors Committee. Mr. Catpano has been awarded ASME Fellow status. He was a co-instructor of the ASME Continuing Education Course, Optimizing Feedwater Heater operation and Maintenance Tehcnology.  Mr. Catapano has also taught similar feedwater heater training courses at numerous EPRI-sponsored seminars, symposiums, and conferences. He is also serving on the ASME PTC-12.1 committee, which is currently revising and improving the Closed Feedwater Heater Performance Test Code.

Mr. Catapano received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Newark Colleg of Engineering in 1973. He was honored by t he New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame as Inventor of the Year in 1990.

.In 2014 McGraw-Hill Education published Closed Feedwater Heaters for Power Generation: A Working Guide, of which he is a co-author with his colleagues Stanley Yokell and Eric Svensson.

Eric Svensson graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering. Eric joined the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program shortly after graduation where he received training in Nuclear Power Theory and Operations. In 2000, he received a Master's of Science in Operations Management from The University of Arkansas.

While in the Navy, Eric served on 2 different nuclear powered submarines. He has held the title of Chief Engineering Officer, responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of all nuclear and auxiliary support systems, and conducted missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Eric still serves as a member of the Navy Reserve and currently holds the rank of Commander.

Eric joined Powerfect in September of 2004. His current role as Vice President of Engineering is primarily devoted to consulting, troubleshooting problems, as well as operation and maintenance activities. Since joining Powerfect, he has been involved in the writing the specification and conducting quality control checks for over 25 replacement feedwater heaters Eric is currently a member of the ASME Heat Exchanger Committee and has co-authored several technical papers. In 2014 McGraw-Hill Education published Closed Feedwater Heaters for Power Generation: A Working Guide, of which he is a co-author with his colleagues Stanley Yokell and Michael Catapano.
